The Avenger is hands down winner. The Sebring (sedan) is butt ugly. The coupe vs. convertible will be a close match.

DCX made a big mistake unveiling the Sebring in a god-awful Silver overcast sky color, which does absolutely nothing for the car. I have seen navy Sebrings which looks very nice.
I will say the Avenger is a much cleaner design and seems to know what it is, while Sebring seems confused. However, it is a big improvement over the previous generation Sebring, but it is not the home run it could have been.
Avenger has home run written all over it. Just please pick a hot color for the unveiling, and not overcast grey.

judging by reaction on the net, the avenger is the hands-down winner of the chrysler group’s mid-size beauty contest and will likely see more sales than its ugly sister, the sebring. but i still say, ( assuming engine/transmissions are shared…and of course they will be), that both cars will be let-down by their mediocre drivetrains and will fail to conquest sales from their competitors. i predict many used pre-07 sebrings/stratus on your local chrysler dealers’ lots soon after these babies are introduced, but i wouldn’t bet on finding a used camry or accord there. let’s hope nitro and wrangler can keep things chugging until the minivans are born.

I like both but would say the Avenger is a little better looking. They need both of these in a big hurry! Hopefully with these two they can recover from their current sales slump. The Nitro and little Jeeps will also help when those hit full production volumes. And the Wrangler!

The Avenger will easily outsell the Sebring because it is the version Chrysler will flood the rental fleets with just as they did with the JA & JR versions. That does not even mention the fact the Sebring appears from the photos to be a styling train wreck.
