Chrysler kills diesel Liberty due to emissions

As Jeep launches the diesel Grand Cherokee SUV in 2007, they will stop selling the Liberty CRD in the United States because it doesn’t meet tougher federal emissions standards that go into effect next year. The Liberty CRD was a hit and released after public demand was high for the diesel Jeep.

    I’m not surprised about deleting the diesel. It’s a technical marvel getting a dirty-burner to run clean. It was a major (expensive) task for the manufacturers who got the soot levels down.
