UAW contract approved

From the article: “A new four-year national labor contract between Chrysler LLC and the United Auto Workers has been ratified by rank-and-file workers, overcoming significant opposition.

The agreement was approved by 56 percent of production workers and 51 percent of skilled trades workers, the UAW said in a statement Saturday. Ninety-four percent of office and clerical workers approved the pact and 79 percent of UAW-represented Chrysler engineers voted for the contract. ”

With the new contract now in place, will the Chrysler executive team share their vision for the new Chrysler?

your union is to blame. not the company. You whine and cry that your not paid enough when your paid far above the average US wage. you let your personal spending habbits determine your future and the company. your health benifits are superior. yet you still cry. I challange any one of you to come try “my” job for “my” pay. not one of you economy reckers could hack it as a coal miner. You all make me sick and to think now we the people are asked to give you billions of dollors to bail your whining asses out. you make me puke

Amen, brother! Tell me why the UAW folks are worth $70+ per hour when their non-domestic comrades at Toyota, Nissan, and Honda earn $40+ per hour.

Greed is the root of all evil. Bankers, politicians, realtors, oil companies – they are all ruining our country. The average American is mad as hell, and we are not going to take it any more. We quit driving because gasoline rose to over $4 per gallon. We quit drinking our lattes and stopped shopping at high end specialty boutiques – we are tapped out. Our borders are not protected, the value of the dollar is down and the markets are in the tank. Executives are making millions and we grinds are losing our jobs and are barely keeping up with inflation. Health care costs are out the roof, we live in a culture of entitlements, and the big media bought the election.

We threw the bums out of Washington, and we are sick and tired of Big Business sending our production jobs off shore. Our industries such as ship building, automobiles, textiles, oil production, and production of any kind barely exist in the USA today. Our World War II veterans would not recognize the country for which they fought and gave their lives.

I believe we are heading for a depression, brother. Yes, a depression. Brother, have you got a dime? Bum a cigarette, friend? May I have a chicken leg, Colonel Sanders? These are questions we all may be asking soon. The era of conspicuous consumption is over. Consumerism is dead. Protect the mother earth. The almighty dollar is no longer our god. Save our symphonies. Remember December 7th and tell a World War II vet, “Thank you!”

Friends, we have lost our way. Immoral acts, lewd conduct, pornography, and no protection for those who can least defend their life. America is in the decline stage – we are being punished for our behavior, and we are getting what we deserve. People don’t go to church any more. The education system is being run by those who don’t share our values. It is time that we returned to our values. Pray for our country, pray for our leaders. The holidays will be very, very sad for many, many, many people thrown out of work. It will be sad for their families and friends too. The silver lining to all this mess is gas prices are falling.

Peace*Love*Joy*Faith*Hope*Charity – these are the important things in life. Pay your bills. Tell your family you love them. Put in a fair day’s work for a fair wage. Pay cash. Avoid debt. Don’t fight. Don’t drink and drive.

Enjoy your retirement, President Bush! Job well done! Best wishes, Obama! We are all pulling for you. May God bless America and keep her safe. Make the best of the holiday.

C Reed, I have to disagree with ye.

First, Nardelli should not be traveling anywhere on a private company owned jet. He should be flying coach on Southwest. Chrysler should sell its corporate jets. They need to cut the salary of management by 1/2 for all those who remain after the first of the year.

Second, those UAW people have to learn to do more with less. They need their wages cut in half along with their benefits. They need to live like the rest of America.

Third, the Chrysler retirees will have to give 1/2 of their big pensions and benefits.

Fourth, Chrysler need to open up the books and go public again. Some sunshine would go a long way.

Only then should America make them a loan.
